Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and on the occasion of the University’s Sustainable Week, the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association, in cooperation with the Training and Laboratories Center, held a workshop entitled:

“Transforming Challenges into Opportunities: Managing and Recycling Industrial Waste.”

The workshop took place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the Yusuf Al-Sabbagh Hall at the Training and Laboratories Center of the University of Technology. It was attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and those interested in environmental issues and sustainability.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Jaafar Habib, who addressed specialized scientific topics focusing on the mechanisms for managing and recycling industrial waste, and the importance of investing in it as an economic and environmental resource that contributes to reducing pollution and achieving the principles of sustainable development.

The participation of the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association comes within the framework of its efforts to spread environmental awareness and promote a culture of sustainability by supporting scientific and awareness-raising activities that contribute to addressing environmental challenges and transforming them into effective development opportunities.

The association also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between academic institutions, research centers and scientific societies, in order to support the exchange of experiences and scientific knowledge, and to contribute to consolidating the concepts of the green economy and sustainable resource management.
