As part of the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association’s efforts to combat climate change, the association, in cooperation with the Training and Laboratories Center, organized a workshop entitled “Plant a Tree to Combat Dust Storms and Achieve Environmental Sustainability,” in line with Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land).
The workshop was presented by Senior Chief Engineer Naeem Barisim Abdul, who discussed the role of afforestation in improving air quality, reducing desertification, and mitigating dust storms.
The workshop emphasized the importance of expanding afforestation campaigns, selecting suitable native species, and involving students and university staff to promote a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
