Launched in November 2024 in conjunction with the COP29 Global Climate Summit, the competition has now come to a close.
In the presence of the esteemed Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayat, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider abd Dahad, along with a distinguished group of academics, the Green Education and Sustainable Research Society, in collaboration with Al-Noor University in Mosul, concluded its first competition with a special award ceremony. The event showcased the winning projects and honored all participants.

- Winning Project: “Designing a Sustainable Green Private University” Submitted by the Architectural Engineering Team – University of Technology

- Project: “Forest Fire Protection” Submitted by students from Al-Qiyada Boys’ Secondary School – Nineveh
- Project: “Generating Water from Air Humidity” Submitted by students from Al-Qiyada Girls’ Secondary School – Nineveh
- Project: “Contaminated Soil Remediation” Submitted by the Chemical Engineering Team – University of Technology
- 🔸 Green Chemistry Category
- Winning Project: “Biosynthesis of Zinc Nanoparticles and Their Antibacterial Activity” Submitted by the Biological Sciences Department Team – University of Diyala
