As part of Sustainability Week held at the University of Technology from February 4-10, 2026, the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association, in cooperation with the Training and Laboratories Center, organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Electric Car: Its Principle of Operation and Maintenance.” This workshop was held in line with Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industries, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and to support the shift towards clean technologies and sustainable transportation.
The workshop addressed the historical development of electric cars, reviewing their various types according to their designs and operating systems. It highlighted the technical differences between them and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each type in terms of efficiency, performance, and practical use.
The workshop also focused on the main components of electric cars and their operating mechanisms. Furthermore, it emphasized aspects related to routine maintenance and the most prominent challenges and problems that users of this type of vehicle may face. Finally, it presented technical solutions and practical guidelines that contribute to enhancing efficiency and extending operational lifespan. This workshop is part of the efforts of the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association to spread scientific awareness of environmentally friendly technologies and promote a culture of innovation and sustainability within the university community, which contributes to supporting the paths of transformation towards a modern and sustainable transportation system.
