Integrity is our motto

The Green Education and Sustainability Research Association, in cooperation with the Training and Laboratories Center, organized a workshop entitled “Integrity is Our Motto,” prepared and presented by Dr. Alaa Fadhil. This workshop was part of the Sustainability Week activities held at the University of Technology from February 4-10, 2026, and aimed to achieve the sixteenth Sustainable Development Goal and its declared targets: peace, justice, and strong institutions.

The workshop included several objectives:

• Spreading a culture of integrity within the university community.

• Clarifying the concept of academic and behavioral integrity.

• Identifying forms of academic corruption.

• Explaining the role of professors and students in establishing integrity.

• Strengthening individual and collective responsibility.

At the conclusion of the workshop, several recommendations were made, including:

1. Making integrity a culture, not just a slogan.

2. Encouraging cooperation between professors and students in instilling values.

3. Applying laws fairly and transparently.

4. Encouraging and rewarding positive behavior.

5. Considering integrity a collective responsibility. The workshop emphasized that integrity is not just a slogan, but a daily practice that requires genuine cooperation among all components of the university community, along with the fair and transparent application of laws, and the encouragement and rewarding of positive behavior as a basis for building sound educational institutions.
