As part of its commitment to promoting social cohesion and building responsible intellectual institutions, the Green Education and Sustainability Research Association, in cooperation with the Training and Laboratories Center, organized a workshop entitled “Combating Violent Extremism and Hate Speech.” This workshop was held within the framework of Sustainability Week at the University of Technology and in line with Sustainable Development Goal 16.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Samira Saadi Shajar, discussed the intellectual and behavioral problems associated with extremism and exclusionary rhetoric, emphasizing the university’s role as an incubator for critical thinking and the values of tolerance.
The association highlighted the importance of deterrent university policies, promoting a culture of dialogue, and building positive communication skills, all of which support a learning environment based on justice and mutual respect.
